Single-Phase Multi-User Meter Boards

Single-phase group-metering boards organise tenant meter positions, incoming distribution and individual outgoing protection. The Hager Australian reference below shows six prewired single-phase positions, rather than a North American socket-meter installation.

Confirm the number and dimensions of utility meters, tenant loads, phase allocation, isolation and sealing requirements in the approved drawings. The pictured cabinet does not include revenue meters and is not evidence of Kenyan utility approval.

LOVATO modular circuit-breaker family reference. Select pole count, rated current, trip curve and breaking capacity for each tenant feeder. A separate RCD or RCBO is required wherever the design calls for residual-current protection; an MCB alone does not provide it.

For a three-phase incoming supply, tenant circuits can be allocated across phases using their expected loads. The design and later measurements determine balance; alternating connections alone does not guarantee equal phase currents.
