Floor-Standing Enclosures

Cubicles for switchboards and MCCs

Floor-standing enclosures house main switchboards, motor-control centres and larger control systems. NPE builds single and multi-bay cubicles with the form separation, cable alley and ventilation the assembly needs.

The enclosure is arranged for front or front-and-rear access, top or bottom cable entry, and the busbar and chassis are sized for the rating and fault level.

Frequently asked questions

Front or rear access?
Front access suits most rooms; rear access is used where boards back onto a corridor and both faces are serviced.
What Form do I need?
Form 3b/4 for MCCs and boards where live working near other circuits must be avoided; we advise from the maintenance regime.
Top or bottom entry?
Set by the cable route — trench and floor entry from below, tray and ladder from above.
How is heat handled?
From the internal load: vents for low density, filtered fans or a cooling unit for high-density cubicles.
