Busbar & chassis systems
The busbar system is the backbone of every switchboard — it decides the assembly’s current rating, its fault withstand and how safely it can be extended. NPE engineers and fabricates copper busbar and chassis systems for its own switchboards and as supply for panel builders across the region.
What we build
- ✓Main horizontal and vertical busbar systems for boards rated up to 6300 A
- ✓Distribution chassis for MCB, MCCB and fuse-gear ways with adequate cable spacing
- ✓Earth and neutral bar arrangements sized to the fault level, not just the load
- ✓Interpanel links, droppers and flexible connections, sleeved and identified
- ✓Form II, III and IV segregation barriers and shrouding to IEC 61439
Engineered, not just cut
Busbar work at NPE starts from the fault-level calculation: conductor sizing, support spacing and bracing are chosen so the system withstands the prospective short-circuit forces, with joints torqued to schedule and resistance-checked. Clearances and creepage follow the standard, and every system is verified as part of the assembly’s routine tests.
Applications
- ✓New NPE-built distribution boards and motor control centres
- ✓Extensions and rebuilds of existing switchboards
- ✓Replacement chassis for ageing or fire-damaged assemblies
- ✓Custom copper work for OEM and panel-builder customers
Send your single-line diagram or existing board photos and we will engineer the busbar system to match — rating, withstand and segregation included.
