LV Power Cables

Feeders and final circuits

LV power cables carry feeders and final circuits in buildings and plant. NPE supplies XLPE and PVC insulated copper and aluminium cables sized to IEC for the current, derating and voltage drop.

We select the conductor size, insulation and number of cores for the circuit and installation, so the cable carries the load safely within its derated capacity.

24/7 Emergency Support

When LV power cable equipment fails, you need fast, reliable help from experienced engineers. We offer around-the-clock emergency support across Nairobi and East Africa — keeping your plant safe and powered, day or night. Whether it is an urgent breakdown or a scheduled repair, our team is ready to respond whenever you need us.

Cost and Estimates

What drives the cost

XLPE and PVC

Insulation selected for temperature rating and installation.

Copper or aluminium

Conductor material chosen for size, cost and run.

Correctly derated

Ambient, grouping and installation method applied to the size.

Voltage drop checked

Conductor upsized on long runs where volt-drop requires.

Frequently asked questions

Single-core or multi-core?
Multi-core for most final circuits and smaller feeders; single-core for large feeders and where installation favours it.
XLPE or PVC?
XLPE has a higher temperature rating and current capacity; PVC is used where its rating is sufficient.
What size do I need?
From the load and installation — the calculator on this page returns a copper size to start from.
How is volt-drop handled?
Checked on the run length; the conductor is upsized if the drop exceeds the limit.
