We select the conductor size, insulation and number of cores for the circuit and installation, so the cable carries the load safely within its derated capacity.

Frequently asked questions

Single-core or multi-core?

Multi-core for most final circuits and smaller feeders; single-core for large feeders and where installation favours it.

XLPE or PVC?

XLPE has a higher temperature rating and current capacity; PVC is used where its rating is sufficient.

What size do I need?

How is volt-drop handled?

Checked on the run length; the conductor is upsized if the drop exceeds the limit.
