FAQs
For low-frequency analog signals (e.g. 4-20mA transducers), cable screens should be grounded at ONE end only (at the PLC panel earth bus) to prevent circulating ground loops. For high-frequency data (VFDs, Profibus), 360-degree grounding at both ends is recommended.
Using 1.5 mm² screened twisted-pair cable (BS 5308), 4-20mA current signals can be transmitted accurately over distances exceeding 1,000 meters with zero signal degradation.
