Switchgear Service

When a board has tripped, failed or been damaged, service work has to be methodical. We fault-find, repair or replace, then re-commission and prove the board before it carries load again.

Where components are obsolete we identify current equivalents so the board can stay in service instead of being replaced wholesale.

What We Cover

  • Fault finding on power, control and protection circuits
  • Breaker, relay and protection setting checks and adjustment
  • Component replacement including contactors, relays and meters
  • Changeover and interlock sequence testing

What You Receive

  • Service report with cause, action taken and settings as left
  • Test and sequence results for the repaired equipment
  • Spares list and obsolescence advice
  • Residual risks and recommended follow-up work

Information To Get Started

Photographs of the board, rating plate and any damage
Fault description, alarms and time of occurrence
Single line diagram and protection settings if held
Isolation arrangement and whether load can be transferred
Breaker failure, relay malfunction or blown protection device
Changeover no longer transferring cleanly to standby supply

Assess the installed board before deciding what to repair or replace.

Information to send

  • Manufacturer, model and nameplate
  • Drawings and fault history
  • Visible deterioration and available downtime

Scope to agree

  • Condition and compatibility assessment
  • Repair or retrofit options
  • Verification scope

What changes the selection?

Equipment duty, installation conditions, available fault current, control interfaces and expansion plans all affect the specification. Agree the required drawings, tests and handover records before placing an order.

Start with the equipment duty. Add the control, protection and measurement functions that your project needs; these are options to review, not a pre-approved assembly.
